ENFP

Do you know your Myers and Briggs personality type? They are great fun, terribly insightful. I enjoy revisiting mine every now and then, sometimes exploring others.

ENFP- extroverted intuitive feeling perceptive

Some things it got right?

> They can talk their way in or out of anything. They love life, seeing it as a special gift, and strive to make the most out of it.

> Everything that they do must be in line with their values. An ENFP needs to feel that they are living their lives as their true Self, walking in step with what they believe is right. They see meaning in everything, and are on a continuous quest to adapt their lives and values to achieve inner peace. They're constantly aware and somewhat fearful of losing touch with themselves.

> They are genuinely warm and interested in people, and place great importance on their inter-personal relationships.

> Because ENFPs live in the world of exciting possibilities, the details of everyday life are seen as trivial drudgery. They place no importance on detailed, maintenance-type tasks, and will frequently remain oblivous to these types of concerns.

> ENFPs sometimes make serious errors in judgment. They have an amazing ability to intuitively perceive the truth about a person or situation, but when they apply judgment to their perception, they may jump to the wrong conclusions.

> Unlike other Extraverted types, ENFPs need time alone to center themselves, and make sure they are moving in a direction which is in sync with their values.

> May be what many would call a “sucker”; vulnerable to schemers and con artists.

> May get themselves into dangerous situations because they’re too eager to push the envelope of their understanding, and not willing to apply judgement to anything.

> May feel intense anger towards people who criticize them or try to control them. But will be unable to express the anger. Left unexpressed, the anger may fester and simmer and become destructive.

> May skip from relationship to relationship without the ability to commit.

Helpful for balance:

> Periodically make lists of goals and accomplishments. Revisit your goals and accomplishments as often as you’d like to maintain a sense of direction.

> Spend time alone regularly for the purpose of thinking through issues in your life.

And on and on. You should check it out: http://www.personalitypage.com. The bottom of the page has a link for the test, or you can look at their description, if you already know your 4 letter code.

So nice to feel understood. But also a tricky roping-in, setting up subtle limitation. Perhaps within ones own mind, these are not so noticeable. We are infinite in possibility for growth and expansion (so I am programmed to say)

But in looking at another's, it can suddenly become a question of fixed nature and compatibility. Do we line up? Look at these ways in which were different and how both of us are built to bolt. At how I can say something very close to my heart and you'll be programmed to find me odd, and you can express your greatest joy that can only fall upon my ears, not my experience. What if we never really get each other?

And?

Thank goodness for these differences. And also for the space to understand that these rules are not set in stone, that we overlap in areas these descriptions leave out because there is grey- no wait- color, everywhere. Thank goodness we're not all the same person. Lots of room for challenge and growth. And, as ENFP's love, ways of experiencing something new and different. Because we are each different, our responsibilities for personal growth are as well. I handle my challenges, you handle yours, and we'll meet where we can for great adventure, joy and heart.

If only we were all the same mind and body, then the hive could work tirelessly for the good of the queen.
