pulling out

It's so funny the way writing makes a mood look permanent. The post below, for instance. Those feelings have passed and it's a new (windy) day- I'm sitting at a rest stop off I-35, letting my dad's truck get knocked around by cold front gusts before pulling back out onto the highway.

Rereading last night's entry, I want to erase it, but it was as real as the calmer mood I feel today. I guess it's not whether or not we get into low moods, have negative thoughts, feel grouchy, sad, angry- whatever emotions we've labeled as "bad"- but what we do with those, what we learn from them, and how we pull ourselves out. Over and over and over again. We are always waking up.
